Improve your business in the last half of 2014
4 Ways to Improve your Business
We’re nearly done with 2014. So, time to reflect: How much time have you spent in your
business as opposed to time spent on your business this year? How have you improved your
business overall? If you think you want to do more, here’s some ideas:
1. Revamp your website: I suppose I should say first, if you don’t have a website for your
business: get one. Now, if you already have one: when’s the last time you took a look at it?
Change it up, make it cleaner, more exciting or more user friendly. The website is often the first
chance to make a good impression on potential customers. We recently gave our own website a
makeover.
2. Get mobile friendly: Make your website accessible from a smartphone. 80% of all searches
on smartphones are for local businesses and services. You can get a mobile friendly website
by either modifying your current website or you can create a mobile version of your site using
mobile-site-design services. These services are usually inexpensive and the impact can make a
lasting effect.
3. Upgrade/Implement technology: Technology is constantly changing, get on board.
Technology isn’t the enemy, don’t be scared to try new things. Try a new program or system,
get a new computer at a location. Don’t just purchase new technology and not capitalize on it,
be sure to not only get new technology but make sure it is implemented, that employees are
truly utilizing it. Technology can make your business more efficient, your employees more
productive and the work day easier.
4. Look into Social Media: this is a powerful tool that can get your name and message out there.
What you put in is what you get out which means you control the impact that social media has on
your business. Make a facebook page, start a twitter account, give social media a chance.
It is so important to take the time to improve your business. Take full advantage of technology
and make your business more productive. One day of work on the business can have a lasting
impact in the business.
